A few months ago I stumbled on some YouTube videos by Derren Brown. He is an amazing performer that combines magic, hypnosis, psychology and memory tricks. If you want to kill a few hours at the office, start watching those videos.
This year he wrote a book called Tricks of the Mind. At this time the book is only available in the U.K. It is not available for sale in America. My copy was located in the King County Library System in Bellevue, Washington. It has a several month wait.
Seeing a trick done can be very entertaining. Hearing how it is done is often a let down. This book is mostly a let down. Derren Brown is entertaining in front of the camera, however his book was a disappointment. The book was a sampler tray of concepts used in his performances mixed with pointless rants against religion and alternative medicine.
