This week I was approached by a “top 10,000″ site to be the local coffee writer for Seattle. The pay would be based upon page views, but my guess is it would be less than $10 a week in exchange for two posts per week. The upside offer would be the ability to promote INeedCoffee.
I let the site know that I’d consider the offer over the weekend. I fear over-extending myself with too many projects. What would you do?
UPDATE (6/23/08): I decided not to accept the offer at this time. If they still need someone in September I let them know to contact me.

“top 10,000″ site makes it hard to say, but if it meant being able to say that I’d been a published writer for some national publication of note, I’d do it.
This isn’t a top 100 or 1000 site. It isn’t a national site. It is a national company that hosts local sites for major metros.
Not for the money obviously. INC would have to get tremendous PR. Then, you have to ask yourself: is this sustainable? Can I keep it up for any length of time? Can I pacify/outsource it?
Or, better yet, counter with a proposal for something different … a full joint venture perhaps …
