In the post If You Like Tales From the Glitter Gym, I slammed the design of one of my favorite websites T-Nation.
It is sad that his phenomenal web site has such a hideous web design. TC, if you are reading this post, imagine your writing on a clean readable site like the WSJ or Mike Industries.
This afternoon I decided to go searching other opinions on reading light text on a dark background. I am SO GLAD I did. Over on 456 Berea St, at the end of the article Light text on dark background vs. readability is a link to a bookmarklet that solves my 10-year old problem. Scroll down to Update 2. If you have FireFox, drag the link titled a lovely bookmarklet to the toolbar.
Let us see this in action.
Here is T-Nation as it is now with all its blinding colors that are more suitable for an Extreme flavor of Mountain Dew.

Now I click my new a lovely bookmarketlet and presto!

Wow. I can now read a full article without rubbing my eyes in pain.
UPDATE (3/17/2009): Mike D found a much better bookmarklet tool. Follow the link in the first comment. Because T-Nation uses some odd client-side pagination, it only works on single page articles, so I’ll be using both.

Awesome find! I’m going to update this post.
