    Looks delicious. Asian shrimp dish? What do you eat, besides coffee, for relatively immediate energy (within 30 minutes). I know candy bars, powerbars, etc. are not the best option. Do you recommend a protein or a complex carb meal?

    @thomas – yes that is a shrimp stir fry.

    As for quick energy, now that I follow a high fat / low carb diet, I don’t have energy swings. I can perform equally well on whatever I eat or on an empty stomach. Yesterday I was lifting weights at the gym on a 12 hour fast. My strength was as high as the morning I had eggs.

    Carbs are sugar. Once you get off the carb blood sugar roller coaster, your energy levels off. At least that is what I have discovered.
